6 Weeks Down

The course has definitely changed my outlook on learning. In school, it was always, “Here’s the information you need to know.” With this course there is more independent development. Since there are usually different ways of achieving the same thing, you have many different avenues to get to the destination. I’ve been getting frustrated lately with JavaScript. I’m still having some issues, but am slowly getting better. When I feel frustrated, I just take a quick break to reset my brain. Teaching to the person allows for more independent thought. Instead of just giving them the information, you give them an idea of how something works and the learner has the freedom to find the answers their own way. I haven’t looked to far ahead in the course, so I’m not sure what the next project is, but I don’t anticipate any problems working together with someone from class. It is nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of, but at the same time, I worry whether I have the knowledge and skills to contribute a substantial amount to the project, especially if there is JavaScript involved. I’m not all that confident with js yet.
